Father Joan and Metralla, a communist militiaman, spend much of the Civil War hiding in some attics in Barcelona, in Pepeta’s house. This faithful parishioner protects and feeds them. In all these years they will only receive the visit of Aurora, a former companion of Metralla’s, who flees into exile. Hatred, mistrust and differences disappear over the months, to the point of risking their lives for each other. The absurdity of war is in evidence in this sincere and humane comedy.
